Nature and Habitat of Malaria Parasites

Plasmodium is an intracellular blood parasite. It lives in the liver cells and red blood cells of various vertebrates, including humans, and in the alimentary canal and salivary glands of Anopheles mosquitoes. Malaria is a global parasite. This bacterium lives all over the world. Plasmodium lives in polar regions, desert regions, tundra regions, summer-dominant regions, winter-dominant regions and temperate regions.
