Otitis Media-Causes
1. Otitis media is caused by viruses such as Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Rhinovirus, Influenza Virus etc.

Otitis Media-Classification
There are three types of otitis media in children. namely-
1. Short-term or acute otitis media: This disease resolves within 2-4 weeks.
2. Chronic otitis media: This disease takes a long time to heal. The eardrum is perforated and pus or fluid comes out. Hearing loss occurs.
3. Adhesive otitis media: In this disease the eardrum sticks to the cochlea and the patient becomes deaf.
Otitis Media
Infectious inflammation of the middle ear is called otitis media or chronic inflammation. Otitis media occurs in the eardrum and Eustachian tube. Children are more affected by this disease.
Sinusitis-Prevention
1. Drink 8-10 glasses of pure water daily. It dilutes the thick liquid coming from the nose.
2. Repeated application of warm wet cloth compresses on the diseased area provides relief.
3. Inhalation of slightly warm water vapor or mentholated vapor through the nose 2-4 times daily provides relief.
4. Rinse the mucus and bacteria by splashing salt water in the nose. With the help of the device, the sinuses should be cleaned by flowing water quickly inside the nose.
5. Antibiotics, antihistamines, nasal drops and painkillers can be used in the initial stages.
6. Nasal saline spray should be done several times a day. Nasal spray is carefully used to open the blocked nose.
7. It is better not to travel by air or by plane if your nose is blocked.
8. Moisture repellent must be used.
9. An ear, nose and throat specialist should be consulted as soon as possible.

Sinusitis-Symptoms
