Spikelets are short and spike-like. It has two dry glumes. This is called zero gloom. Null Glum-1 and Null Glum-2. There are two flowering glumes. Lemma and Palea. The lower of the two floral glumes is called the lemma and the upper is called the palea. The flower is above the palea. For example – paddy, wheat, bhutra, sugarcane, grass etc.
