Elucidates the role of specific dendritic cells in acquired immunity. This discovery will contribute to the cure of allergies, organ transplants, type-1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis of the brain and spinal cord. Awarded Nobel in Medicine (2011) and Canada Gardner International Prize (2003).
