Respiratory Pigment

The part of blood that transports oxygen and carbon dioxide is called the respiratory pigment. The main pigments in animals are Haemoglobin of Vertebrates, Haemocyanin of Molluscs and Arthropods, Heme-erythrin of Brachiopods and Cypanculids and Chlorocrurin of Polychaetes.
