1. Infection occurs on hands, feet, head, back, abdomen, waist and nails.
2. The itchy area looks like a round disc of red color.
3. Gradually the round disc increases in size, the middle skin remains normal and itching increases.
4. The border of the affected area is raised and uneven. In severe infection the area becomes red.
5. Red spots or rashes appear on the hands. There are spots on the folds of the palms and on the sides of the fingers.
6. Nails become stained, discolored, deformed and dry and break into pieces.
7. Spots are seen on the feet.
8. Rashes appear on the skin. Brown scales appear on the affected area.
9. A circular ring is formed in the affected area.
10. Sometimes a red rash occurs. Lesions have definite boundaries. The lesion consists of small scaly plaques.
11. The skin around the affected area becomes swollen, itchy and oozes sticky juice or pus.
12. The natural color of the skin is lost and the skin breaks down.
13. Scars appear on the scalp and hair falls out.
14. Spots are seen in the groin. Groin itches.
15. Destroys the keratin protein of the skin. Keratinase enzyme helps in this.
