Tissue definition

A group of similar or dissimilar cells produced from the same source and collectively performing similar functions is called a tissue or tissue. Tissues are the groups of cells that make up each part of a plant. Different parts of plants are made up of different types of tissues. When the cells of a plant organ divide transversely, it is anticlinal in nature. If the cells divide in parallel, they are periclinal in nature. French scientist M. F. X. Bichart first used the term tissue.
Tissues are divided into two parts according to cell division. Meristem and permanent tissue.
