Born-14 May 1954. He is a British doctor. William Kelin, Peter John Ratcliffe and Greg Semenza discovered the mechanisms of cellular oxygen sensing and adaptation to available oxygen. They explain the role of regulating gene activity in response to different oxygen levels. Awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine (2019).
